The Grand Duelist. Lunge vital procs, Riposte parry mind games, and Grand Challenge quad-vital ultimate combos.

Fiora's passive, Duelist's Dance, reveals a vital on nearby enemy champions — hitting the vital deals bonus true damage, heals Fiora, and grants movespeed. Her Q (Lunge) is a short das- that targets enemies, prioritizing vitals. Mastering the angle of approach to hit vitals is the core mechanic — Q from 45-degree angles to strike the visible vital.
W (Riposte) parries all incoming damage and hard CC for 0.75 seconds, then stabs forward. If the stab hits an enemy champion, their attack speed and movespeed are reduced by 50% for 2 seconds. The mind game of when to Riposte is what separates good Fioras from great ones. E (Bladework) resets the auto timer and slows on the first hit, with a guaranteed crit on the second. R (Grand Challenge) marks all four vitals on an enemy; hitting all four or killing them triggers a massive area heal for Fiora and nearby allies.
Fiora is a lane bully against melee opponents. At level 1, look to Q-vital the enemy laner when they step up to last hit. The healing and true damage from vitals make extended trades very favorable. Level 3 (Q-E-W) is her first real power spike — look for all-in opportunities when the enemy wastes a key ability.
Riposte W is the most important ability to master. Parry the enemy's CC (Darius E, Renekton W, Jax E, Camille E) to win trades decisively. Against ranged opponents, play passively until level 6 and look for all-ins with R. Fiora's scaling is excellent — even losing lane, she becomes a split-push monster late game.
Fiora is a split-push champion first and a teamfighter second. Ideally, pressure the side lane while your team holds objectives. If forced to teamfight, look for R on the enemy frontline tank — hitting the four vital heal is game-changing. Q R E auto-Tiamat-auto is the maximum damage combo on an ulted target.
Position on the flank, not with the team. Wait for key CC to be used, then dive the enemy backline. Use Q to proc vitals quickly and W to parry critical CC. Flash-Q is an essential mechanic for resetting vital orientation if you're on the wrong side of the target.
Start Doran's Blade. RAVENOUS Hydra is the first core item — the active and waveclear are essential for split-push pressure. Trinity Force provides spellblade damage and movespeed. Sterak's Gage for survivability in fights. Blade of the Ruined King against HP-stackers.
Guardian Angel for teamfight insurance. Death's Dance for damage delay and healing. Boots are Plated Steelcaps against AD or Mercury Treads against AP/CC. Hullbreaker is a strong late-game option for amplified split-push pressure.
Fiora wins most melee duelist matchups. She struggles against champions who can fight outside her vital range (Camille, Kennen) or lock her down with point-click CC (Pantheon, Malzahar). Against hard matchups, max Q first for mobility and play for the mid-game powerspike.
