Agony's Embrace. Stealth detection ranges, Allure charm timing, Whiplash execute damage, and Last Caress escape-finisher combo.
Jungle Assassin · Agony's Embrace.
Evelynn's passive, Demon Shade, grants stealth at level 6 — the defining feature of her kit. While stealthed, Evelynn regenerates health when low and can position freely around the map. Her Q (Hate Spike) fires a line skill shot followed by three auto-targeted spikes — this is her primary clear and poke tool. Mastering the Q recast timing maximizes damage output.
W (Allure) curses an enemy champion; after 2.5 seconds, the curse charms them and reduces magic resist. The charm duration scales with distance, making max-range Ws devastating. E (Whiplash) dashes to a target and deals bonus damage based on their missing HP — when empowered by stealth, it also pulls Evelynn to the target. R (Last Caress) damages and slows all enemies in a cone, and makes Evelynn untargetable — use it as both execute and escape.
Evelynn is a full-clear jungler. Her ideal path is a full 6-camp clear into scuttle crab, then recall for Dark Seal. Pre-6, avoid fighting unless the enemy is extremely overextended — Evelynn's ganks without ultimate are weak. Haste level 6 as quickly as possible — hitting 6 transforms her from a farming jungler into a menace.
Post-6, look for ganks with W-empowered engages. W from fog of war, wait for the charm to charge, then Q-E-R the target. Use sweeper trinket and control wards to deny vision in gank paths. Flanking through the lane rather than river often avoids enemy wards.
Evelynn is a pick assassin — she does not teamfight front-to-back. Ideally, catch an enemy carry before the fight starts, making it a 4v5. Use stealth to flank around the battlefield and identify priority targets. W-R-Q-E is the standard burst combo on isolated targets.
If forced to teamfight, wait for the enemy to use their CC abilities before entering. Use Protobelt to gap close quickly. R is both your execute and escape — don't use it solely for damage; the untargetability frames can dodge critical abilities. Against tanks, weave in and out of stealth while waiting for cooldowns.
Start with Hailblade + Refillable Potion. First recall aim for Dark Seal and boots. Hextech Rocketbelt is the standard mythic — the active dash helps gap close. Lich Bane provides massive burst from the spellblade proc. Rabadon's Deathcap scales your AP into one-shot territory.
Banshee's Veil against heavy AP or CC comps. Zhonya's Hourglass against AD threats. Void Staff against magic resist stacking. Mejai's Soulstealer when fed — the movespeed from stacks is invaluable. Boots are Sorcerer's Shoes.
Evelynn thrives against squishy, immobile mid laners and ADCs. She struggles against bruisers and tanks who can survive her burst and against champions with true sight (Lee Sin, Rengar, Morgana E) that deny her stealth advantage. Against hard matchups, focus on farming and scaling — Evelynn is stronger in mid-late game.
