Mid/Top Fighter · The Unforgiven samurai.

Yasuo Abilities Overview

Yasuo's passive, Way of the Wanderer, doubles critical strike chance and builds a Flow shield from movement. Steel Tempest (Q) thrusts his blade forward; after two successful hits, the third becomes a tornado that knocks enemies airborne. Wind Wall (W) creates a barrier that blocks all enemy projectiles — one of the best defensive tools in the game. Sweeping Blade (E) dashes through enemies, dealing increasing damage. Last Breath (R) can only be cast on airborne enemies, dealing massive damage and resetting Flow to max. For full details, check the LoL Fandom Yasuo page.

Yasuo Laning Phase

Yasuo is a dominant laner who wins trades through mobility and critical strike pressure. Use E to dash through minions for unpredictable movement and stack flow shield. Q is your primary trading tool — farm with Q and harass with third-Q tornado. Level 2 is a strong all-in with E+Q. Wind Wall blocks key abilities (Zed Q, Ahri E, Lux Q) on reaction. Against ranged mages, play aggressive level 1-2 before they can poke you down. Against melee fighters, short trade patterns with E+Q+auto+E back. Read more about Yasuo on Wikipedia.

Yasuo Teamfighting

Yasuo is a skirmisher who excels in chaotic fights with knockup synergy. The key to teamfighting is landing a multi-target knockup Q (or having a knockup-enabling teammate like Malphite, Diana, or Wukong). R into carries and follow up with Q+E resets. Wind Wall is crucial — place it to block enemy ADC damage or key CC abilities. In sidelane fights, Yasuo is a duelist who can 1v1 most champions. Against CC-heavy comps, be patient and wait for key abilities before engaging. In narrow jungle paths, Yasuo is most dangerous — his Q and R hit multiple targets.

Yasuo Build Path

Core items for Yasuo include Immortal Shieldbow for critical strike and shield survivability, Infinity Edge to convert passive to 200% crit damage, and Kraken Slayer for attack speed and bonus true damage. Bloodthirster for sustain and overshield. Wit's End for magic resist and on-hit damage. Guardian Angel for revive. Death's Dance for damage delay. Boots are Berserker's Greaves. Runes: Lethal Tempo (keystone), Triumph, Legend: Alacrity, Last Stand, with Taste of Blood and Ravenous Hunter secondary for sustain.

Yasuo Matchups

Yasuo excels against immobile mages (Anivia, Xerath, Lux, Vel'Koz) whom he can dodge skill shots using E dashes and all-in. He struggles against point-and-click CC (Pantheon, Renekton, Malzahar) and tanky fighters (Darius, Sett, Garen) who can out-duel him. Mid lane, assassins like Zed and Talon are skill matchups determined by Wind Wall usage. Yasuo is heavily team-dependent — he needs knockup champions on his team to maximize ultimate value. In top lane, Yasuo wins against ranged tops but loses to most bruisers. Find more matchup details on the LoL Fandom guide.
