Zoe Abilities Overview

Zoe's kit revolves around her signature Paddle Star (Q), which she fires in a line and can redirect for massive long-range burst damage. Sleepy Trouble Bubble (E) puts enemies to sleep after a short delay, increasing the damage of her next attack against them. Spell Thief (W) allows Zoe to collect spell shards dropped by enemy summoner spells and item actives, granting her one-time use of those abilities plus bonus movement speed. Her passive, More Sparkles!, empowers her basic attack after casting a spell, adding significant burst to her combos. Learn more about her abilities on the League of Legends Fandom page.

Zoe Laning Phase

In the mid lane, Zoe excels at controlling the lane through constant poke with Paddle Star (Q) by angling it through the minion wave. Her level 2 all-in is exceptionally strong if she lands Sleepy Trouble Bubble (E) — follow up with a long-range Paddle Star (Q) and an empowered auto-attack to force flash or secure a kill. Position at maximum Q range to extend the missile travel distance for bonus damage. Watch for Spell Thief (W) shards dropped by the enemy laner or jungle camps; a well-timed Ignite or Exhaust shard can turn trades decisively. Zoe Teamfighting

Zoe thrives in chaotic teamfights where enemies are distracted and positioning is harder to maintain. Pre-fight, fish for Sleepy Trouble Bubble (E) picks through walls or over terrain to catch a squishy target before the fight starts. During the engage, use Paddle Star (Q) from max range to avoid retaliation while dealing devastating poke damage. Spell Thief (W) shines in teamfights — dropped summoner shards from multiple enemy cooldowns give her incredible mobility and utility. Prioritize staying at the edge of the fight rather than diving in; a dead Zoe deals zero damage.

Zoe Build Path

The standard Zoe build starts with Doran's Ring and two Health Potions for sustain in lane. First recall should aim for Lost Chapter to solve mana issues, building into Luden's Companion for waveclear and burst. Sorcerer's Shoes follow for magic penetration. Lich Bane is an excellent second item, synergizing with her passive for empowered auto-attacks between spells. Zhonya's Hourglass third item provides armor and a crucial stasis active against assassins. Late-game, Rabadon's Deathcap and Void Staff amplify one-shot potential against tanks and squishies alike.

Zoe Matchups

Zoe struggles against mobile assassins like Zed and Fizz who can dodge her Sleepy Trouble Bubble (E) and close the gap before she can retaliate. Control mages like Syndra and Orianna out-range her and can punish her Q animation. Favorable matchups include immobile mages like Veigar and Xerath who cannot easily avoid her skillshots. Post-6, use Spell Thief (W) drops from jungle ganks to escape or turn fights. Visit the LoL Fandom Zoe page for matchup statistics and build recommendations.
