The Weapon of the Faithful. Five-weapon rotation management, Calibrum Crescendum turret combos, and Moonlight Vigil AoE damage patterns.
ADC Marksman · The Weapon of the Faithful.
Aphelios has five weapons with unique abilities: Calibrum (long-range marks), Severum (lifesteal), Gravitum (slow/root), Infernum (AoE damage), and Crescendum (close-range DPS). Your off-hand weapon determines your Q ability, while R (Moonlight Vigil) fires a wave that applies the main-hand weapon's bonus effect.
Weapon management is the core of Aphelios gameplay. Track ammo counts to avoid running out during fights. Key combos include Calibrum + Crescendum for turret sniping, Infernum + Gravitum for AoE CC, and Severum + Crescendum for sustained melee DPS. Each weapon pair offers different trading patterns and power spikes.
Aphelios has a weak early game and needs protection from his support. Focus on farming safely and using Calibrum or Infernum for ranged poke. At level 6, your ultimate provides strong all-in potential with the right weapon.
Communicate with your support about which weapons you have. Infernum + Gravitum sets up ganks, while Severum + Crescendum is good for defensive play. Save Calibrum for long-range picks after laning phase.
Position behind your frontline — Aphelios has no mobility. Time your weapon swaps to have your best teamfighting weapons (Infernum for AoE, Calibrum for safe DPS) during objective fights. R + Infernum Q can delete entire teams.
Be aware of divers — Aphelios is extremely vulnerable to assassins. Save Gravitum for self-peel and coordinate with your support. Late game, Crescendum + Calibrum with turrets provides incredible zone control.
Start Doran's Blade or Long Sword. First item Kraken Slayer for sustained DPS. Second item Phantom Dancer for attack speed and kiting. Infinity Edge third for massive crit amp.
Situational items: Lord Dominik's Regards against tanks, Bloodthirster for sustain, Guardian Angel vs burst. Boots are always Berserker's Greaves. Aphelios scales extremely hard with items due to his weapon-based damage.
Aphelios struggles against dive champions (Vi, Hecarim, Nocturne) and mobile assassins (Zed, Akali, Kha'Zix). He excels against low-range ADCs and enchanters. Pick with peel supports like Lulu, Janna, or Thresh.
